Shiro Utsuri (SHEE-roh OOT-soo-ree) koi have a black body with a white pattern over the top. The pattern of a Shiro Utsuri koi is often described as a checkerboard with its alternating sections of sumi and shiro.

Showa is a variety of ornamental koi (carp). Also known as the Showa Sanshoku. The Showa has a black body, with red and white markings across the body. The Showa is one of the gosanke; the 'Big Three', consisting of Kohaku, Sanke, and Showa. Highly desired by most fish enthusiasts.
lemon hariwake

The Hariwake (HAH-ree-WAH-keh) subvariety of koi describes two coloured koi where one of the colours is platinum, or metallic white, and either yellow, orange, or red. A Lemon Hariwake is a koi with a platinum base colouration and a metallic lemon-yellow pattern.
